The Complete QwickBuild Component Library
QwickBuild is built from seven component categories that work together as one system: joist and beam profiles, post profiles, brackets and accessories, fasteners, the TwistClip hidden fastener system, tile fixings, and supports and pedestals. Each category is engineered to connect cleanly with th e others, so a contractor sourcing parts mid-install or a dealer fielding a parts question can find exactly what a project needs without guessing at compatibility.
System Anatomy
A QwickBuild deck starts with posts anchored to the substrate, whether that’s a concrete pad, a paver surface, a waterproof membrane, or natural ground with spot footings. Beams run across the posts, joists run across the beams, and brackets tie every connection point together. Adjustable supports and pedestals sit beneath the frame wherever extra height or levelling is needed, and the decking surface, composite, hardwood, or tile, fastens to the top of the joists using the appropriate fixing system. Every component below fits into this same basic assembly, scaled up or down depending on deck height and surface material.
Joist and Beam Profiles
QwickBuild’s joist-beam lineup runs six profiles, all extruded from 6063-T6 aluminum with a powder-coated black finish and supplied in 20-foot lengths.
- A100: 2 x 1/2 in, the ultra-low profile for ground-hugging decks
- A110: 2 x 1 in, a step up in depth for slightly raised surfaces
- A120: 2 x 2 in, the workhorse profile bridging low and mid-height builds
- A130: 2 x 4 in, suited to mid-height and elevated applications
- A140: 2 x 6 in, built for longer spans and greater height
- A150: 2 x 8 in, the deepest profile for demanding elevated builds
For help matching a profile to a specific deck height, the Profiles page walks through the full sizing guide.
Post Profiles
Elevated builds need vertical support, and QwickBuild covers that with two aluminum post profiles.
- A194: 4 x 4 in post, supplied in 10-foot lengths, suited to most elevated residential builds
- A195: 6 x 6 in post, supplied in 20-foot lengths, for taller structures or heavier loads
Both posts are extruded from the same powder-coated 6063-T6 aluminum as the joist-beam profiles, so the finish and corrosion resistance stay consistent from post to beam to joist.
Brackets and Accessories
Every connection point in the frame relies on a matching bracket, from corner joints to post-to-beam attachments.
Standard Brackets (A100 through A150 Range)
- A201 90° Bracket: a multi-purpose bracket for connecting profiles at corners
- A202 Joiner Bracket: connects profiles end-to-end
- A203 Joist Anchor Bracket: connects joists to beams
- A205 Double Joist Bracket: creates a double joist to support board-ends when using TwistClips
- A206 Double Joist Bracket FLAT: creates a double joist for board-ends or for fixing trim under a rim joist
- A207 Brace Plate Bracket: connects profiles top-to-bottom in parallel
- A208 Trim Bracket: supports a trim board
- A220 Beam End Cap: finishes over open ends of beams
Post Connection Brackets
- A210 Bracket A and A211 Bracket B: connect a beam to a 4 x 4 in A194 post
- A212 Bracket Kit: connects a beam to a 6 x 6 in A195 post
A110 Low Profile Brackets
The A110’s shallower depth calls for its own dedicated bracket range.
- A301 90° Bracket and Joist Anchor for A110: handles both corner connections and joist-beam connections in one bracket
- A302 Joiner Bracket for A110: connects A110 profiles end-to-end
- A306 Double Joist Bracket for A110: creates a double joist to support board-ends when using TwistClips
- A307 Double Joist Bracket FLAT for A110: creates a double joist for board-ends or trim fixing under a rim joist
Most brackets in the standard and A110-specific ranges are manufactured from either stainless steel grade 304 with an electrophoresis black coating or powder-coated 6063-T6 aluminum, and come with the required A401 screws included.
Fasteners and Driver Pack
Every fastener in the QwickBuild system is stainless steel grade 304, sized for a specific job in the frame.
- A401 Self-drilling screw, 5/8 in: the standard fastener included with most components
- A402 Self-drilling screw, 1 1/4 in: coarse thread for wood
- A403 Type 17 screw, 2 1/2 in: coarse thread for wood
- A404 Type 17 screw, 5 in: coarse thread primarily for solid blocking in railing applications, includes a washer
- A409 Self-drilling screw, 3/4 in: secures TwistClips in the joist channel and helps control board expansion and contraction
- A410 M12 Bolt, 1/2 x 4 in: for structural QwickBuild connections, typically bearer to post, includes a locking nut and two washers
- A411 M12 Bolt, 1/2 x 6 in: the longer version of the A410 for the same connection type
The A420 Driver Pack rounds out the fastener range with the bits needed to install everything above: two hex drivers and two Torx drivers in the sizes QwickBuild’s screws and bolts call for.
TwistClip Hidden Fastener System
The A520 TwistClip is QwickBuild’s hidden fastener for composite decking, designed to interlock with the joist channel and leave no visible screw heads on the finished surface. It ships with the A409 screws required for installation and is built from black polypropylene, with a 1/4 inch gap spec between boards.
The A520 is compatible with several major composite decking brands, including Trex Transcend, TimberTech Azek Reserve, TimberTech Terrain, and TimberTech Vintage. Since board dimensions can vary between manufacturers and even between product runs, it’s worth test-fitting the TwistClip against the specific boards being installed before committing to a full run.
Tile Fixings and Components
For tile surfaces, QwickBuild offers a dedicated set of fixings that install directly onto the joist.
- A701 Tile Rubber Bead: a 40 inch EPDM rubber strip that seats into the top of the joist to isolate noise and friction beneath tile
- A702 Tile Retainer Bracket: retains perimeter tiles, installed at the ends of joists running perpendicular to the deck edge
- A703 Tile Retainer Snap Clip: retains perimeter tiles along the edge of perimeter joists
- A710 Tile Spacer Cross: evenly spaces tiles at a 1/4 inch gap
- A711 Tile Spacer Straight: maintains a 1/4 inch gap along straight tile runs
- A712 Tile Trim Bracket: supports a tile used as a trim piece
Supports and Pedestals
A single deck can accommodate uneven substrates and a wide range of heights without switching product families, thanks to QwickBuild’s adjustable support and pedestal range.
- A901 Deck Support Packer: a 1/8 inch rubber packer, stackable up to five high
- A905 Deck Support Adjustable: covers a 5/8 to 1 3/8 inch height range
- A910 Deck Support Adjustable: covers a 1 3/8 to 2 1/2 inch height range
- A915 Deck Support Extender: adds 1 3/16 inch per unit, stackable up to eight underneath the A910
- A920 Deck Support Slope Corrector: levels grades up to 7 percent
- A925 Deck Support Protection Pad, Acoustic: isolates noise and vibration where the support meets a hard substrate
Stacked in combination, these components cover a continuous adjustable range from 1/8 inch up to a full foot, which means one product family handles everything from a nearly flush low-height deck to a fully elevated structure.
Solid Blocking
The A851 Solid Blocking is a 6 x 6 inch by 4 foot block manufactured from recycled HDPE, used to provide solid framing support at railing and post connection points. It’s a practical option wherever a connection needs a solid backing but a full aluminum post isn’t required.
Compatible Decking Brands
QwickBuild’s joist profile is designed with a dual-edge system that accommodates multiple decking materials on the same frame.
The channel edge of the joist accepts decking boards with a side groove for TwistClip installation, along with tiles stabilized using QwickBuild’s tile accessories. The flat edge of the joist supports top-fixed hardwood decking and composite boards fastened directly with screws.
On the composite side, the A520 TwistClip covers the same major composite brands detailed in the TwistClip section above. For hardwood, top-fixing directly to the flat edge of the joist works with most standard hardwood decking profiles. For exterior tile, the A701 through A712 tile fixing range handles retention, spacing, and trim, whether the tile sits at a low height over a waterproof membrane or at full deck height on adjustable pedestals.

I purchase many different types of items in the building industry and have been at all levels from putting away lumber, customer service management and purchasing at wholesale level. The Vista railing company by far has been the best company to deal with in my entire 41 years in the industry. It’s just unbelievable the support and quality they produce from all levels — from manufacturing, pulling the product, design team and of course the sales support. Railing is a very difficult item for some yards to sell due to the complexity, but Vista makes it real easy with the least complicated quoting system, the Vista planner.
Thank you Team Vista for all you do for me and the industry!!
