Built on a legacy of over 50 years, VISTA has helped shape the railing industry, with decades of experience and expertise behind the aluminum railing systems. What started in 1974 as a wood remanufacturing & turning operation in Maple Ridge, British Columbia has grown into the leading aluminum railing manufacturers in North America’s At VISTA, we design, engineer, innovate, test, and manufacture, with precision and care.
Who we are.
We build premium aluminum, glass, and cable railing systems that are sold through a network of stocking dealers and distributors, across North America. We design, engineer, test, and manufacture everything picket and glass railings to the accessories that go with them. Our aluminum systems are independently tested and certified to meet or exceed National Building Code requirements, and every railing carries a limited lifetime warranty. In addition to our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Maple Ridge, BC, we operate distribution facilities in Mississauga, ON serving Central & Eastern Canada, and Ft. Wayne, IN, serving our distributors in United States.

In 1974, we began as BW Creative Wood Industries Ltd, a wood remanufacturing and woodturning plant known for tight tolerances and in-house tooling. In 2006, we introduced an all-in-one deck railing kit that paired wood rails with powder-coated metal balusters, an industry innovation, and our first real step into metal. A 2011 acquisition of a well established, premium aluminum railing line, followed shortly after by an aluminum manufacturing operation, began the shift of our business entirely to aluminum and set the direction we still follow today. We marked our 50th anniversary in 2024, celebrating five decades of manufacturing evolution and innovation while continuing to build on the habits that got us here.

Being a good neighbour matters to us as much as being a good manufacturer. Through corporate giving, employee volunteer hours, and fundraising, we support organizations including BC Children’s Hospital, the BC Cancer Society, the Canadian Red Cross, and the Boys and Girls Clubs of South Coast BC. Much of that giving stays close to home in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, where our plant and our people have been part of the community for decades.

Our Factory Tour walks you through the plant floor, from raw aluminum extrusion to pre-treatment, powder coating, and final assembly, all under one roof in Maple Ridge, British Columbia. Keeping every step in-house is what lets us ship posts that arrive fully assembled and finished, so an installer is fastening a completed part rather than prepping raw stock on site.
