I first learned of Arbutus Vinyl at a Home Show at Kerrisdale Arena a couple of years ago. We had experienced leakage problems in our upper deck, and I also feared the possibility of an infestation of carpenter ants. I made enquiries of the representatives at the Arbutus Vinyl booth at the Home Show, who showed interest, offered helpful suggestions, and offered to come to my house for an analysis and appraisal. That is how I met Mark Harrison. After obtaining a clear estimate and understanding about the potential downsides of the project, we proceeded with the work. My fears were quickly substantiated as we discovered considerable rot and an infestation of carpenter ants. Mark kept me regularly informed as the work progressed, and the workers themselves were competent, on time, considerate, polite and tidy. I particularly appreciated the way Mark constrained costs, and kept me apprised as the project continued. In the end it was a very successful project. Subsequently Mark has assisted me in finding competent people to clear outside drains, and to perform other maintenance jobs including replacing glazing, on this 60+ year old house. Last winter I was both pleased and surprised to have Mark bring a crew around to clear snow when Vancouver had an unusually snowy winter. I have maintained contact with Mark and Arbutus Vinyl since the original project in 2008, and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone requiring their excellent services.
