An Important Note
Recent testing indicates that posts with welded base plates fail at loads an average of 35% lower than identical posts with mechanical base plate connections. The strength of welded post base connections can be deceiving and their use is generally not recommended. Vista aluminum railings utilize a mechanical connection for this critical area, the post/base plate connection. These test results correspond with data published by the CSA and ANSI certification bodies.
