Ben Hume
President
Through direction of the Management Team, Ben is responsible for the successful implementation of Alco's strategic plans, resulting in improved company performance to our customers, employees and shareholders. Ben spent several years in the food processing equipment industry in addition to holding several senior marketing positions including Corporate Marketing Manager, North America, for a multinational corporation. Ben is a graduate of the British Columbia Institute of Technology with a diploma in Administration. Ben is currently a member and past Chairman of the National Board of Directors for the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters.
Dale Rasmussen, CSP
Product Manager, Vista Aluminum Railing Systems
Dale joined Alco in 1986 and since that time has worn many hats in the organization starting with Laborer/Grinder, Welder/Fabricator, Railing Installer, Shop Supervisor, Inside Sales Supervisor, Territory Sales Manager. Over the years, Dale has gained a wealth of knowledge in the aluminum railings industry and today holds the position of Vista Product Manager.
Dale is a certified Sales Professional with the Canadian Professional Sales Association, a certified Welder, and has completed AutoCad and various business management training.
Dale enjoys being responsible for Vista’s product development when he can work with our customers to find solutions to unique railing projects and figure out how to make the ‘weird’ stuff work. Dale is also responsible for both product planning and product marketing and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products.
Dale lives in Abbotsford, BC with his wife, Marie, three children and pet dog, Chloe. Dale enjoys the outdoors including hunting, fishing, camping and skiing.
Peter Siemens
Product Manager, Mirage
Peter has been with Alco for over twenty years and has served in various positions including welder, foreman, plant manager, and sales representative. Peter has extensive knowledge of aluminum products, computer-aided design and the construction industry in general. As the Product Development Manager for Mirage, he is responsible for providing customers and the Company with a sustainable product advantage through the development and improvement of existing and future products and manufacturing processes. This responsibility includes producing engineering documents used for training by all other departments within Alco with emphasis placed on consistency and quality throughout the manufacturing process.
Daniel Langlois
Supervisor, Inside Sales/Customer Service
Daniel joined Alco in 1998 working on the manufacturing side of things. He started in Roller Screens, then spent some time in both Shipping and the Paintline Department. In 2002, he moved into Inside Sales. In 2005, he became responsible for Custom Sales and was promoted to Supervisor in 2008.
Solving problems is part and parcel of Daniel’s work from creating quotes for custom jobs to providing technical assistance to all of Alco’s products. At other times, Daniel can knock out several ingenious solutions to unusual requests in a day’s work. Daniel also leads and mentors the Inside Sales/Customer Service Team.
Daniel has taken many Customer Service courses, and takes pride in helping Alco’s customers with their needs. Daniel has also completed the AutoCAD course, supervisor management training, and has a Certificate of completion for advance powder coating application & process control. Daniel also holds a degree in technical computer repair.
Daniel lives in Langley, BC with his wife Shannon, and two children. Off work, Daniel’s energies are largely devoted to family, fishkeeping and in his spare time, a love for astronomy.
